Income and Expense Graph
This graph shows quarter-by-quarter the actual deposits  (cash receipts) from wages and other earned income vs. the expenses incurred during that quarter.  The first quarter showed healthy earnings while Isabel taught classes for UC Santa Cruz and DVC.  By the third quarter, however, the unemployment earnings that Isabel collected was inadequate, combined with a slow quarter from Sean’s other business, to cover the monthly out-flow.
(Fourth quarter figures are still being tallied.)

Net Worth
This graph shows quarter-by-quarter any changes in the family’s net-worth.  The increases are primarily because the home loan payments are marginally reducing the family’s debt.  Also, Sean is slowly paying down debts incurred when starting his other business.  One additional change occurred in the third quarter when the family received a new property tax bill and found that the value of their home had increased by 2%.

First Quarter Budget Allocation - Approved
The approved budget  allocation for Death & Taxes, Inc. expenditures

First Quarter Budget Allocation - Actual
This graph represents the actual budget after tracking the first full quarter of expenses.  The artists quickly realize that no budget was approved for art-making and office supplies.
Also, the board requested that food and clothing be categorized separately.

Second Quarter Budget Allocation – Actual
This graph represents the actual budget after tracking the second quarter expenses.  Some expenses are on-target with the approved budget while others have unexpectedly increased total costs.

Third Quarter Budget Allocation – Actual
This graph represents the actual budget  after tracking the third quarter expenses.  It is clear to the company that loan payments and art making supplies were under-accounted for in the approved budget.
(Fourth quarter figures are still being tallied.)

Expenses – Approved vs. Actual
This graph shows dollar amounts over and under the approved budget for each category.
